Walmart-owned Sam’s Club plans to open more than 30 new stores in the U.S. over the next few years, marking its first expansion since 2017.

The warehouse club’s next store will open in Florida in 2024.

Sam’s Club is also modernizing its distribution network and launching five new supply chain fulfillment and distribution centers, with the first location planned in Georgia later this year.

The new clubs will be approximately 160,000 square feet, larger than existing locations at roughly 140,000 square feet. Most will feature a sushi island, floral area and dedicated hearing and optical centers.

Sam’s Club operates approximately 600 stores in the U.S. It closed 63 in 2018, converting up to 12 of the shuttered locations to fulfillment centers.

The last new Sam’s Club location opened in Hanover, PA.

“We’ve seen remarkable growth over the past few years with a record number of members, and we’re excited to bring the experience of Sam’s Club to even more markets as we expand our footprint,” Sam’s Club CEO Kathryn McLay said in a press release.
