Zappos reached an agreement for customers to make returns at Whole Foods. Amazon owns both retailers.

According to Zappos, the service makes online buying and returning easier by removing tape, labels and shipping boxes. It also benefits Whole Foods customers to combine grocery shopping with package shipping.

“Being a customer-first company is in Zappos’ DNA. As our customers’ needs evolve, we evolve with them to ensure we’re exceeding expectations and delivering wow, at every step,” said Scott Schaefer, CEO, Zappos.com. “With ‘Label Free Box Free Returns,’ we’re excited to not only be better serving our customers but also to have found a natural partner in Whole Foods Market.”

To use the free service, customers bring returning items in their original packaging to the Amazon return counter or the customer service desk inside a Whole Foods store, show the return QRL code on their mobile device to an employee who will scan the code, pack and ship the merchandise back to Zappos.

Zappos also offers free shipping to customers who return merchandise via UPS.
