Joe’s Sports Temporarily Lays Off Half of Warehouse Workforce

Joe's Sports, Outdoor & More will temporarily lay off half the work force at its Wilsonville, OR distribution center, reported The Oregonian.
An estimated 60 workers are employed at the warehouse.


Joe's, formerly called G.I. Joe's since its founding in 1952, was purchased in 2007 by Gryphon Investors. The company sent letters to the employees that faced lay-offs stating that permanent termination could be possible starting April 3 if it could not renegotiate terms with its lenders, said the local paper.

Employees were told this week that the warehouse, which distributes to all 31 of the chain's stores, would be closed Monday, reported the newspaper. An estimated 60 workers are employed at the warehouse.
