Winmark Corporation, the parent of Play It Again Sports, reported earnings for the quarter that ended September 24, 2022, of $10.37 million, or $2.93 per share, against $10.1 million, or $2.67, a year ago.
For the nine months ended September 24, 2022, net income was $29.25 million, or $8.11, compared to net income of $28.33 million, or $7.40, for the same period last year.
“Our third quarter results reflect strong performance during the back-to-school season,” commented Brett D. Heffes, chairman and chief executive officer.
Winmark’s resale franchises include Plato’s Closet, Once Upon A Child, Play It Again Sports, Style Encore, and Music Go Round.
As of September 24, 2022, there were 1,291 franchises in operation and over 2,800 available territories. An additional 54 franchises have been awarded but are not open.
