Reima U.S.A, Inc, a 78-year-old Finnish children’s activewear brand, including apparel and footwear, introduced its 2022 early Autumn back-to-school line, showcasing rainwear and outerwear, with new designs dropping weekly through September 2022.
The 108-piece collection (91 percent sustainable) includes jackets, hoodies, pants, overalls, gloves, and footwear. Each style has recycled mono-material—a minimum of 50 percent recycled fiber content in the main material of the product, bluesign-approved fabric and Responsible Wool Standard-certified wool or organic cotton and hemp.
“Reima believes that life should be lived outdoors even when the weather turns challenging,” said Todd Starcevich, head of Reima, North America. “Our Early Autumn collection keeps kids warm, dry and protected during everyday outdoor adventures. Changing seasons shouldn’t mean children can’t explore and enjoy nature; our designs always focus on enabling life outside year round.”
All rainwear is waterproof, uses a non-toxic polyurethane coating to guard against PFAs, and has welded seams. Several new Reima knits include moisture management with a lightweight feel resulting from recycled poly using polyethylene terephthalate (PET bottles). The pullovers and vests are made of recycled poly for moisture wicking and breathability.
