Amazon’s Consumer CEO, Dave Clark, will leave the company next month, the e-commerce giant announced in a blog post on Friday and reflected in a regulatory filing.

Clark, a 23-year veteran of the online retailer, headed up all of Amazon’s logistics business until January 2021, timed with his promotion as CEO of the company’s consumer organization. In that role, Clark oversaw a significant portion of Amazon’s business, expanding his logistics and operations responsibilities to include retail and electronics.

Andy Jassy, Amazon’s chief executive, said in an e-mail to the company’s leadership that he hoped to have an update on succession plans “over the next few weeks.”

“The past few years have been among the most challenging and unpredictable we’ve faced in the history of Amazon’s Consumer business,” Jassy said, “and I’m particularly appreciative of Dave’s leadership during that time.”
