Neiman Marcus, Inc. reported revenues dipped 0.6% during April to $343 million from $346 million. Comps declined 1.9%. Comps in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman, decreased 3.6%.


 


Revenue growth trends were the strongest in the company’s stores in Texas and New York City. The merchandise categories in the Specialty Retail Stores segment that performed the strongest included precious jewelry and beauty.


 


Comparable revenues at Neiman Marcus Direct in the four-week April period increased 7.2%. The top selling merchandise categories in the Direct Marketing segment included women’s apparel and shoes, handbags and men’s furnishings.


 


In  the 13-week period, revenues sunk 1% to $1.062 billion from $1.073 billion. Same-store sales fell 2.5%. Comparable revenues for Neiman Marcus, Inc. for the third quarter of fiscal year 2008 decreased 2.5%. Specialty Retail Stores comparable revenues decreased 3.4 percent which represents a comparable revenue decrease of 4.4 percent at Neiman Marcus Stores and 3.4% increase at Bergdorf Goodman. Neiman Marcus Direct revenues were 2.0% above last year.
