Bass Pro Shops said it expects 5 million people to attend the 2008 Spring Fishing Classics events Feb. 29 through March 16 at 46 of its retail locations across the United States. The 16-day event features new product exhibits, live demonstrations, clinics, music and kids events.
Anglers also be able to learn techniques and strategies at free seminars and tank demonstrations conducted by experts like recent BassMaster Classic winner Alton Jones, 9-time BASS Angler of the Year Roland Martin, 4-time BassMaster Classic Champion Rick Clunn, legendary angler and TV host Bill Dance, 2-time BassMaster Classic Champion Kevin VanDam and many more.
Other special events include:
- Anglers Legacy: Continuing the heritage of fishing to the next generation is important. As a way to continue the tradition, anglers will be able to sign up in the fishing department for the Anglers Legacy program, where they pledge to take a novice fishing at least once in the next year.
- Reel Trade-In: If attendees have any old reels that dont see a lot of action any more, bring them in during “Reel Trade-In” days March 6 through March 9. They can be traded in for a coupon for up to 20% off the purchase price of a new reel. The donated reels will be given to local not-for-profit groups whose mission is to teach children about fishing and the outdoors.
- Boats: There will also be a lot of boats to see, from big water boats to small fishing, canoeing and even kayaking. Visitors will really get the fever once they see the new line-up of boats from Tracker Marine–the worlds largest manufacturer of fishing boats. Customers will find exactly what they need to have fun on the water with selections from Tracker, Nitro, Tahoe, SunTracker, Kenner and more.
- Kids Events: Kids can get into the spirit of the outdoors with plenty of events geared for them during the Spring Classic.
Bass Pro Shops will also give away a Tracker Pro Team 175 fishing boat and a 2-year lease on a 2008 Toyota Tundra to customers who register for a drawing at the event.
