Nike, Inc. has named Peter Hudson as VP of footwear design, responsible for inspiring, directing, and developing Global Footwear Design for the Nike brand. He will report to Sandy Bodecker, Nike’s VP of global design and Eric Sprunk, Nike’s VP of global footwear.
 
“Peter is an experienced Nike leader whose focus on innovation and design has helped Nike set new performance benchmarks in products such as the Mercurial Vapor, Total 90, and the World Cup ’06 World Football collection,” Bodecker said. “He has played a significant role in the success of the Nike brand and we look forward to his design leadership as we continue to create premium performance products worldwide.”


Hudson brings more than sixteen years of design experience to the role. Most recently, Peter was Creative Director for Sport Performance at Nike, leading the footwear design process across all categories and the integration of digital design tools. In 2003, as Creative Director for soccer, he provided design leadership across footwear, apparel, and equipment, helping drive significant category growth. Hudson first started at Nike in 1996 and held major design roles in soccer and tennis. He succeeds John Hoke who recently moved to Converse as the Vice President of Global Footwear.


Hudson holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Polytechnic) in the United Kingdom.
