Majestic Athletic is looking into moving its headquarters to a new facility in Palmer Township in Pennsylvania to consolidate eight other locations. Majestic's current headquarters are in Washington Township, PA.

VF Imagewear, its parent, is considering combining eight Lehigh Valley facilities into one new Palmer Township facility “that would bring all of our nearly 700 employees together under one roof,” VF President Ed Doran said in a statement.

“Majestic Athletic's business is vibrant and growing,” Doran said. “To support our growth needs we have had discussions with a developer about building a facility in Palmer Township. “Our plans have not been finalized.”

He said “a series of public and private steps” need to be completed before a move.

VF released the statement one day after an economic development executive familiar with the proposal said Majestic would leave the Bangor area, where it was founded and grew into one the Slate Belt's top employers. Majestic “would continue to expect to draw from a diverse, skilled labor pool in Northampton County,” VF said in the statement.

According to local Pennsylvania papers, Majestic had been looking to get approval from Palmer's planning commission for a 360,000-square-foot manufacturing plant.
