Recreational Equipment, Inc. appointed Jesse King to a one-year term to the company's board of directors. King, 52, resides in Evergreen, Colo.
A consultant in the arenas of leadership, organizational development and philanthropy, King has assisted numerous corporate, government, and non-profit leaders with projects ranging from strategic planning, to operational reorganization, including capacity assessments, and organizational cultural projects.
He is presently a founding partner and managing director of Fulcrum Advisors, a privately held consulting firm supporting philanthropic activity and leadership development. He also works as an adjunct trainer with the federal government's Office of Personnel Management and as adjunct staff for the Center for Creative Leadership. King is active in the Colorado community and serves as the chair of the Chinook Fund and a board member for the Denver Community Foundation. He recently completed service on the board of the Colorado Association of Funders.
King's prior positions and assignments have included an executive position with the Daniels Fund, a management position with the Rockefeller Foundation and leadership positions with the Children's Defense Fund, Black Community Crusade for Children, and Colorado Outward Bound School.
