Horizon Fitness has received ISO 9001:2000 certification. ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems and is maintained by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO is the worlds leading developer of international standards, specifying the requirements for state-of-the-art products, services, processes, materials and systems.
“In order to be a total solutions provider for retailers and customers, it takes operational excellence in all areas of our business,” said Bob Whip, president of Horizon Fitness. “By going through the ISO certification process, were a stronger organization. It has forced us to assess all areas of our business, including managerial and organizational practices, as well as our manufacturing processes and systems.”
To receive ISO 9001:2000 certification, Horizon Fitness underwent an extensive auditing process by a third-party registrar company. The review process, which took more than a year to prepare for, examined all areas of the business to ensure internationally-accepted standards are in place companywide. These standards help companies develop consistent processes and systems, resulting in the development of safe, quality products.
