Macy’s is closing at least 15 stores in early 2020, according to reports.
In August 2016, Macy’s said it would close 100 stores. Since then, it has been closing locations as their leases expire. Macy’s ended the year with approximately 680 department stores under the nameplates Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, and approximately 190 specialty stores that include Bloomingdale’s The Outlet, Bluemercury, and Macy’s Backstage.
The 15 stores set to close include:

- Harrisburg Mall, Harrisburg, PA
- Rivergate Mall, Goodlettsville, TN
- Westfield Meriden, Meriden, CT
- University Mall, Carbondale, IL
- Towne Square Mall, Owensboro, KY
- Northgate Mall, Cincinnati, OH
- Stow-Kent Plaza, Stow, OH
- 54 East Main Street, Walla Walla, WA
- Ohio Valley Mall, St Clairsville, OH
- 300 Pine Street, Seattle, WA
- Lewiston Center Mall, Lewiston, ID
- Burlington Mall, Burlington, WA
