Spartan, which recently expanded its fitness footprint with a trail running series, announced a partnership with Altra, naming the top running brand the “Presenting Partner of Spartan Trail” and “Official Shoe of Spartan Trail.” The engagement will run through the 2019 Spartan Trail season, encompassing on-site branding and activations at events across the U.S.
“Spartan and Altra share a passion for helping others push the boundaries of what they thought possible,” said Spartan’s Director of Product Management Josue Stephens. “Together with Altra, we’re excited to collaborate and inspire people to step outside and onto the Spartan Trail to see what they are made of.”
In addition to on-site branding and exhibition space for racers to try-on and purchase Altra trail running shoes, the brands will present a series of “Run and Talk” events with a roster of trail running legends at local running specialty stores in which are held in each Spartan Trail market. The partnership also allows for Spartan to provide a complimentary spectator pass ($20 value) to every registered Spartan Trail racer.
“We are honored to partner with Spartan on their 2019 Trail Series”, said Altra President Todd Dalhausser. “Spartan has created a movement in the active lifestyle space that has motivated and inspired many people to create and accomplish new goals. We at Altra are long-time participants of Spartan, and we are excited to take that partnership and participation to the trails.”
Spartan trail events coincide with Spartan’s OCR race weekends, bringing the electric atmosphere of the brand’s festival to the trail running community. Spartan Trail events feature 10k and 21k distances with miles of rugged terrain and natural obstacles like river crossings, scrambles, log hops and technical single-track that define a traditional trail race.

July 28 | Asheville, NC
August 25 | South Atlantic (TBD)
