The Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) has named Marmot its Contributing Benefactor for its financial and in-kind support of the Association. The ACMG is Canadas only internationally recognized guide association and the first non-European member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA). Founded in 1963, the ACMG now has 600 members.
“We are proud to support the ACMG,” said Mark Martin, President of Marmot. “They have established extraordinary standards of training and client care for the entire mountain community of Canada. Like our support of the American Mountain Guides Association, Outward Bound Wilderness, and dozens of guide services and outdoor events throughout the world, our direct involvement with the ACMG reflects our belief that skills and leadership training and quality wilderness experience will raise support for the preservation of wild places everywhere. An informed person is an engaged person. We want people to know wilderness directly, not from a book or film.”
