Baden Sports, Inc. has filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Seattle, WA for patent infringement against Molten USA accusing Molten of making and selling “dual cushion” basketballs that duplicate a patented design developed by Baden in the mid-90s. Baden designates its design by the acronym “CCT”, which stands for “Cushion Control Technology”.
Badens complaint alleges that Molten is infringing U.S. Patent No. 5,636,835 and
indicates that Baden is investigating whether Molten is infringing other rights as well.
Baden is seeking monetary damages and a permanent injunction against further
importation and sales of infringing basketballs.
