Sea to Summit, a supplier of backpacking, camping, paddling and adventure travel gear, welcomed Andy Palmer to the company’s North American executive team as the team’s general manager.
In this role, which is a new one for the company, Palmer will primarily be acting as the director of sales, focusing on sales and distribution strategies to carry forward the strong growth momentum and brand awareness that Sea to Summit has attained these last several years. However, as GM, he’ll also have broad oversight of the operations and marketing aspects of the business, as these areas are so intrinsically linked to successful sales strategies.
“We are very excited about Andy joining our team” said Andrew Dunbar, president. “What we like about him and why we think he’ll be a tremendous asset is that he’s got years of experience building brands and driving sales but that’s coupled with a calm and collaborative leadership style which we are confident our team will thrive under. And, like us, he’s entrepreneurial and partnership-minded in his approach with customers; he really understands our business values–that achieving sales goals needs to go hand in hand with maintaining brand integrity and value.”
Palmer brings 25 years of deep and relevant industry experience, with his career spanning roles such as CEO of Crank Brothers, GM of Ocean Minded and VP of Sales Dragon Optical as well as having started and run, with his partners, the U.K. brand Animal.
“As a devoted adventurer, I’ve always admired the quality and authenticity of Sea to Summit gear. With industry-leading product design, exceptional customer service and a clear, controlled distribution strategy, the brand is poised for its next level of growth. I am thrilled to join the team and to continue to define and execute the growth opportunities ahead” commented Palmer, who will be based at the company’s North American office in Boulder, CO.
