Reebok signed a multi-year endorsement agreement with Russian superstar Pavel Datsyuk. The Red Wings center has made the switch to Reebok and will take to the ice in head-to-toe Rbk Hockey equipment and apparel. Datsyuk is the newest edition to the Rbk hockey team of athletes that also includes Pittsburg Penguins center Sidney Crosby, Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron, Dallas Stars center Mike Modano, Calgary Flames right winger Tony Amonte and Edmonton Oilers defensemen Chris Pronger.

At 5’11″ and 197 pounds, Datsyuk is a quick-footed forward, who was the sixth pick of the Detroit Red Wings (171st overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. The Russian standout arrived in “Hockeytown” in 2001 and quickly made his way into the rotation. He appeared in 70 games in his rookie season netting 11 goals and dishing out 24 assists. In 2002, he was instrumental in helping the Red Wings raise Lord Stanley’s Cup, notching three goals and three assists in 21 playoff games. The 27 year old recently signed a two year contract extension with the Red Wings after a breakthrough season in 2003-2004, his third in the NHL and with the Red Wings. He tied for the team lead in scoring with 30 goals and 38 assists for 68 points.

“Pavel is a top powerhouse player that will make a great addition to Rbk Hockey family,” said Len Rhodes, vice-president of marketing, Reebok Hockey. “Pavel is an extremely talented player that should shine this year with the new rule changes that favor dynamic scorers.”
