Reed Exhibitions appointed Ron Walden as group vice president and head of the Fashion & Festival portfolio, which include the Agenda Shows, Agenda Festival and ComplexCon.
Walden most recently served for over six years at Nike as the senior sales director, west territory. Prior to Nike, Walden spent eight years as VP of sales at MAGIC tradeshow.
“I’ve been a fan of Agenda, ComplexCon and Aaron’s work for quite some time,” Walden said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to connect the dots, building progressive platforms, pushing boundaries and disrupting our industry’s norms.”
In early January, Reed Exhibitions announced that Aaron Levant, who founded Agenda, is retiring from the business. Levant will be working closely with Walden to assist in a smooth transition, as well as a larger role advising across RX with the goal of creating immersive event experiences across the RX events.
“I’ve known Ron over 10 years and I’m confident he is the perfect person to carry my vision and legacy alongside our talented team,” Levant said. “Ron has been both a friend and colleague. I’m honored to have him continue to lead the group I’ve built at RX with his deep understanding of culture, brands and retail.”
Walden will be based in the Reed Exhibitions Los Angeles office, reporting to Reed Exhibitions’ president, Americas, Hervé Sedky. Walden’s start date is scheduled for March 19.
