Amazon has quietly raised seller fees for several categories across the apparel and accessories space The increases give Amazon a larger percentage of the sale it takes from third parties, according to Business Insider.

As of April 15, the fee for the apparel and accessories category increases from 15 percent to 17 percent while handbags and sunglasses category fees expands from 15 percent to 18 percent for merchandise priced above $75. Items under $75 will still be charged the current 15 percent rate, according to Nomura Instinet.

In the jewelry category, Amazon is now reportedly charging a 20 percent fee on the first $250 of a sale, and 5% for the remainder of the cost on items above that threshold, according to Nomura Instinet.

The higher fees in apparel come as Amazon is aggressively expanding its private-label assortments in the category.
