Free Country, the active lifestyle brand, has formed a new partnership with the New York- based not-for-profit organization, The Fresh Air Fund, as part of its mission to make the outdoors accessible for everyone.
As part of the partnership, the brand has designed a new limited edition tee shirt with 100 percent of proceeds going towards supporting the Fresh Air Fund’s free summer and academic enrichment programs for children from underserved NYC neighborhoods.
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Free Country on Tuesday, December 19, held an ice-skating event for Fresh Fund children and their families yesterday at The Rink at Bryant Park. The event was hosted by five-time Olympic Medalist Nastia Liukin, who skated with the Fresh Air Fund families and wore the #GetOutThere tee shirt on the red carpet. Celebrity stylist and Fresh Air Fund alumna, June Ambrose was also in attendance.
For over 140 years, The Fresh Air Fund has helped more than 1.8 million children by providing free outdoor summer experiences. In this spirit, the co-branded graphic tee shirt features a bold display of Free Country’s new campaign hashtag #GetOutThere, a manifestation of the brand’s mission to inspire others to be free to experience the outdoors.
“Like The Fresh Air Fund, we believe in the life-changing potential of the outdoors,” says Free Country CEO and Founder Ira Schwartz. “Every child should have the opportunity to get outside and at Free Country we provide high-quality, accessible product that allows you to do just that. We’re thrilled to join them in this effort.”
“The Fresh Air Fund is thrilled to partner with Free Country. Our similar missions in believing in the potential of the outdoors is perfect synergy. We start by connecting our children in the summer with opportunities where they have the chance to create new friendships, swim, hike, and explore – all in the outdoors” says Fresh Air Fund Executive Director Fatima Shama. “We are grateful for Free Country’s support which will help us raise awareness about our programs and serve more New York City children.”
The #GetOutThere tee shirt is available now at FreeCountry.com in four colors (Charcoal, White, Turquoise, Orchid) for both women and men. Proceeds will guarantee a minimum donation guarantee of $25,000 and will directly benefit Fresh Air Fund programming, including overnight summer camps, leadership programs, and visits with volunteer host families.
As part of their larger partnership, Free Country will also continue supporting the Fresh Air Fund through a variety of ongoing initiatives, including outerwear donations. Free Country will also be providing campers attending the Fresh Air Fund’s February 2018 upstate retreat with jackets to ensure they can #GetOutThere all winter long.
