The first Gander Outdoors store will open on December 13 on Lakeville, MN, the retailer said on its Facebook page.
“We’ve been hard at work getting your Gander Outdoors stores ready. We are excited to announce that our first store will open in Lakeville, MN on Wednesday, December 13th! Follow our Facebook and Instagram to watch as we open our first store, and stay tuned for more store announcements,” Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World, wrote on the page.

On its third-quarter conference call, Lemonis said that contingent on final lease negotiations, the current plan is to open the initial 15 to 20 Gander Mountain stores by the end of the first quarter in 2018 and an additional 40 stores during next year’s second and third quarters.
Camping World, the nation’s largest RV-retailer, acquired the rights to Gander Mountain’s leases in bankruptcy court proceedings. Gander Mountain had 126 locations when it filed for bankruptcy in March 2017 and Camping World plans to reopen approximately 60 under the Gander Outdoors name.
