The North Face named Runners Roost of Denver, CO winner of The North Face “Never Stop Exploring Award,” recognizing the specialty running store that demonstrates the most complete dedication to encouraging and enabling outdoor exploration within its community. The specialty dealer was selected for its commitment to the community and inspiring a healthy lifestyle for children and families.

“Runners Roost has a long and impressive history of serving their local running community – not only through their outstanding customer service and presence as a store – but specifically through close partnerships with local high schools and nonprofits like Girls on the Run and Free the Girls,” said The North Face Global General Manager of Run + Train John Hutchison, who presented the award to Runners Roost at The Running Event 2017 conference and expo for running specialty stores in Austin, TX last Thursday. “We’re proud to support them with the Never Stop Exploring Award, and are excited to see where their continued efforts will lead.”

Runners Roost is an active member in the Denver community and regularly engages in local races and charity causes as well as fostering a substantial run club. They are being recognized for their efforts to not only create a strong and vibrant local run community, but also for their work with local high schools, such as Colorado High School Sports Association where they’ve created Spike Night, a fundraising event where local high school track teams can get spikes at a discount and earn donations for their programs. Additionally, they work closely with Girls on the Run and Free the Girls, a nonprofit which helps women in developing countries who are victims of sex trafficking become entrepreneurs.

In recognition of Runner’s Roost contribution to the Denver community, The North Face will donate $5,000 to help build community programs. The North Face created the Never Stop Exploring Award in 2010 as a retail-specific complement to the brand’s Explore Fund grant program for non-profits. It aims to encourage Running Specialty stores to initiate local community programs that break down the barriers to getting people outdoors. The award recognizes and supports retailers with programs dedicated to inspiring and enabling the next generation of explorers.
