Eastern Mountain Sports has appointed Anne Cavassa as Director of Merchandising, Wearing Gear. The newly-created position will work with the product development team to innovate new products and gear consistent with the Eastern Mountain Sports company vision as an authentic outdoor retailer. In addition, Sandra Rossi was hired as Product Manager for Women’s Wearing Gear and will help develop products specifically for women.

Before joining Eastern Mountain Sports, Cavassa was Senior Product Line Manager at Reebok International Ltd., where she developed seasonal business plans and set strategic direction across the NFL and NBA business units. Prior to that, she was Product Design Manager for Tommy Bahama, where she helped develop brand imaging through product and seasonal platforms for the company’s men’s and women’s wholesale business. In addition, Cavassa worked as a Designer for Eddie Bauer where she designed and developed the EBTek collection, Women’s Golf, Men’s Swim and Men’s Knits.

Cavassa received a Bachelors Degree from Loyola Marymount University. In her spare time, she enjoys running, triathlons, adventure racing, yoga, hiking and snow sports. An avid competitor, she has participated in numerous marathons and adventure races, including Ironman Florida (2002), Rome Marathon (2001), Xterra Adventure Race (2000), and the New York Marathon (1999).

Sandra Rossi joins Eastern Mountain Sports from The North Face where she was a Product Manager RD&D for snowsports. In this capacity, Rossi assisted in the global line plan and brand direction, handled the merchandise plan and ensured products were brought to the market. Prior to The North Face, Rossi worked at Adidas/Salomon where she was the Product Category Manager for Bonfire Snowboarding, and at Elle magazine as the Assistant Associate Publisher and Beauty Editor.

Rossi attended the University of South Florida where she received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Rossi is an avid snowboarder, enjoys cycling, surfing, photography and is fluent in Spanish.
