Pacers Running, a multi-door running specialty retailer and events company headquartered in Washington DC, recently partnered with FitRankings’ universal platform for tracking fitness activity.

By using a proprietary algorithm, FitRankings converts any fitness activity from apps and wearables and into one metric, which has been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control.

Using FitRankings platform, Pacers Running built, launched, and ran a two-week “Run the District” challenge directly on the runpacers.com website using a simple embedded widget. The challenge brought in just under 1,000 participants, who ran/walked 35,300 miles, using eight different apps/wearables, with a new customer acquisition rate of 23 percent.

“It took us a total of 20 minutes to build and launch the challenge on our site,” said Kathy Dalby, CEO of Pacers Running, in a statement. “When I think about the amount of time we spend each week to have in-person runs at each store location, it makes sense to begin supplementing with digital challenges that allow us to track participation, customer acquisition, and be able to communicate with our customer based on their training levels.”

Officially launched in 2015 at SXSW, FitRankings has been working in stealth mode with larger brands and organizations, including the American Heart Association, Saucony and Whole Foods Markets. Heading into 2018, FitRankings will be opening up their offering to smaller businesses.

“We have believed in the promise of wearables and fitness apps from the beginning,” said CEO of FitRankings Patrick Hitchins. “The fragmentation of the space has killed its growth. It is our goal to empower businesses large and small with the tools to create meaningful and inspirational experiences for individuals using any app or wearable.”

FitRankings, based in Austin, helps hundreds of companies redefine their health programs using the FitRankings Enterprise solution. Organizations are using FitRankings platform to create deeper relationships with their members. FitRankings also connects friends, families, and people by allowing them to connect across apps, wearables, and activities.
