Dry Ice, Inc., a specialty retailer of home furnishings for teens, has named retail veteran Ann Iverson as acting Chief Executive Officer. Iverson, who has also been named to the Company's Board of Directors, succeeds co-founder Steven Thomas, who will maintain his board position and serve as a strategic advisor to the company.
Ms. Iverson has led a distinguished career in retail, specifically in the specialty retail sector. Most notably, she has held the Chief Executive titles at Kay-Bee Toys, Laura Ashley and Mothercare and was Vice President of Stores at Bloomingdale's. Ms. Iverson recently led the growth and expansion of the Brooks Sports as Chairman of the Board.
“Ann's unique combination of merchandising, fashion and specialty retail expertise will be instrumental as we execute our growth strategy for the Dry Ice Brand,” stated Edward Harrison, Managing Director of Mercantile Capital Partners and Acting Chairman of the Board for Dry Ice. “We are indebted to Steve Thomas and his two co-founders, who together created a truly unique retail concept in the home furnishings market.”
Both co-founders John Oehler and Rick Bradshaw will continue in their executive management roles as Chief Merchant and Head of Stores and Operations, respectively. Frank Johnson, formerly of Today's Man, joined the company last November as its Chief Financial Officer.
“I look forward to leading Dry Ice through its next stage of growth and expansion,” said Ann Iverson. “This is an exciting fast moving retail concept that, in a quick period of time, has already won the hearts of its customers.”
