LaSportiva has teamed up with Trail Runner Magazine to present the 2005 Trail Runner Trophy Series featuring a Grand Prize, all-expense-paid trip to the 2006 Dolomite Race in the Sky.
This trail-racing series features more than 130 races all over the United States and Canada between March 1 and September 30, 2005. From the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run in Squaw Valley, California, to
the Muscatatuck Park 5K in Muscatatuck Park, Indiana, the series offers something for every type of trail-runner, in every location.
The Grand Prize is not only for the elite, however. The racer who simply
finishes the most Trophy Series races is on their way to Italy, complements
of La Sportiva.
The Grand Prize package includes:
- Two roundtrip airline tickets
- Lodging for two in Italy¹s scenic Val di Fassa
- Entry Fee for 2006 Dolomite Sky Race
- Rental car for one week

Celebrating it’s 9th year in 2006, the Dolomite Race in the Sky is one of
the most impressive high-mountain races in the world. The course travels
along trails, mule tracks, scree and snowfields in the shadow of the
world-renowned Dolomites. Starting in the town of Canazei (elev. 4,760 ft.),
the 22-kilometer course climbs Passo Pordoi (7,345 ft.) en route to the
impressive Sella Massif (10340 ft.). From there, competors begin their
descent dropping down along the magnificent Val Lasties as they return to
Canazei for the finish.
The winning doesnt end there for Trophy Series competitors. The Trail
Runner Trophy Series offers eighteen other prize packages for series
champions in Ultra-Distance and Marathon & Under categories provided by
supporting Trail Runner Trophy Series sponsors.
