Tactical apparel and gear company 5.11 has opened a brick-and-mortar retail store in Cincinnati, OH, providing another building block to the company’s’s 2018 retail expansion goal of 50 company-owned retail stores.

5.11 launched its company-owned retail stores in California in 2014, and continued opening an average of two stores a year for the next two years. The beginning of the brand’s robust retail expansion came in 2017, and 2018 is proving to be 5.11’s most ambitious 12-month projected retail expansion to date.

“Professionals and consumers demand the most of their gear and seek high-quality products that go beyond being just something to wear. With 5.11’s purpose-built gear and apparel designed for the most demanding missions, we bring the right blend of functionality, durability and utility,” said Francisco Morales, 5.11’s CEO and co-founder. “Consumers rely on 5.11 for solutions, products and systems that advance the functionality of servicemen and women on the front lines and enhance the performance of outdoor adventurers and fitness enthusiasts as well. Our company-owned retail stores offer the largest assortment of 5.11 products available, and our knowledgeable in-store staff, who are experts in their fields, help bring the products to life.”

With its roots in servicing the law enforcement, first responder and military communities, 5.11 prides itself on seeking out and hiring former servicemen and women and veterans whenever possible. Each retail location carries head-to-toe apparel and gear for men and women including pants, shorts, shirts, outerwear, footwear, packs and bags, headwear, load-bearing equipment and tactical accessories. 5.11 enters retail in very specific landscapes, looking for highly trafficked locations and often as a stand-alone destination or anchor of an existing shopping center.

“Once again, we have selected the Cincinnati market for a retail location, and we’re looking forward to fulfilling our customers’ demand for world-class apparel and gear,” said Jeff Roberts, 5.11’s senior vice president of retail. “We pride ourselves on providing the ultimate 5.11 experience, and we’re confident that our team–which is comprised of many current or veteran military service members or first responders–will deliver exceptional customer service that reflects the 5.11 ethos.”

5.11 will host a public grand opening event at the Cincinnati store at 7322 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236 on Saturday, Sept. 15. Commencements will begin at 10 a.m.
