J.C. Penney, in a regulatory filing, said five members of its board had resigned following its emergence from bankruptcy proceedings through a sale to Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management.

The filing said that on December 30, 2020, the following members of the board of directors resigned from the Board, effective December 31, 2020: B. Craig Owens, Lisa Payne, Leonard Roberts, Javier Teruel and Ronald Tysoe. The resignations were not the result of any disagreement with the company or the Board on any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices.
