Zappos.com signed on as the title sponsor of the San Francisco footrace, Bay to Breakers. The event will be renamed Zappos.com Bay to Breakers during the brand’s multi-year partnership with the race. On Sunday, May 17, 2015, nearly 50,000 spirited participants will race from the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean, cheered on by hundreds of thousands of spectators from the Bay Area and beyond. Plus, in true Zappos form, this year’s event will have a fun twist.

“We wanted to do something unique and different to celebrate the title sponsorship with Bay to Breakers, so we’re excited to announce ‘Bay to Breaking Records,’ which is our attempt to set the world record for ‘Most World Records Set During a Road Race,’” said Zappos.com’s CEO, Tony Hsieh. Zappos will achieve this in partnership with RecordSetter.com, the Las Vegas-based world record organization that believes everyone can be the world’s best at something.
