Zappos is opening a 325,000-square-foot fulfillment center and retail outlet at 9101 Minor Lane in Louisville, KY. which will grow the company by more than 100 new employees over the next two years.

The redesigned and rebranded retail space will be called The Outlet: Powered By Zappos and offer an environment for customers to experience Zappos’ WOW service and variety of products in person. Additionally, the new fulfillment center will allow the brand to impact the customer experience starting at the warehouse.

“We have always felt at home in Kentucky,” said Justin Brown, senior director of operations at Zappos. “Since our very early days, we have grown and deepened our strong relationship with Louisville. We’re thrilled to bring even more Kentuckians in the family. From the city’s many art installations to the slogan ‘Keep Louisville Weird’ – it’s a match made in heaven!”

In celebration, Zappos is hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, April 12. Ceremonies will commence at 12:00 PM and the first 10 customers in line will be granted access to an exclusive stockroom full of WOW-inducing products. The festivities will include local food trucks, complimentary champagne and beverages, and an additional 30 percent off purchase total on top of discounts as high as 70 percent off MSRP.

This announcement comes as Zappos marks its 20th anniversary. Zappos is owned by Amazon.
