WSS, a neighborhood-based footwear and apparel retailer, celebrated the return of NBA All-Star Weekend to Los Angeles, with experiences that everyone could enjoy. February 15 through 18, the retailer engaged in local and basketball communities across Los Angeles County.

Kicking things off on February 15, WSS participated as the West Coast retail partner for Haddad Brands’ Rookie USA Fashion Show in Hollywood. Scores of professional and celebrity models showcased the latest footwear, apparel and accessories from children’s Nike, Jordan, Levis, Converse and Hurley brands. Celebrities in attendance to watch their kids walk the runway included: DJ Khaled, Victor Cruz, Chris Paul, Fat Joe, Scottie Pippen and Roselyn Sanchez. Celebrities and their families also stopped by the DTLA WSS Rookie USA Pop-Up for a private shopping experience and the launch of Jordan x Asahd Collection. Following All-Star Weekend, the shop will permanently reside within the WSS Flagship Store at 1600 West 7th Street.

On February 17, WSS presented their inaugural “Slam Fest” at the Flagship Store in Downtown Los Angeles. The day featured NBA player appearances by Craig Smith, Tim Frazier, Sterling Brown and LA native, Ryan Hollins; a slam dunk and streetball exhibition with Chris Staples, Michael Purdie, “Reemix,” Jordan Southerland, “Sik Wit It” and “Bone Collector;” complimentary food courtesy of Wing Stop; a Universal Domino League Tournament; live music and broadcasting by Ballerz World, Power 106 and Mega 96.3; games, contests and giveaways.

To complete the weekend, and as part of its ongoing initiative, retailer WSS Cares! was present at various All-Star Weekend-inspired neighborhood events including: Veniceball’s “Show LA Love” Hoops Experience, Bell Gardens Basketball Tournament in Lynwood and “Golf Beef” at the Chester Washington Golf Course.
