Worldwide Buying Group, the Seattle-based buying cooperative, just concluded their spring trade show in Reno, NV. It was reported over 230 member stores and 21 guest stores attended the show, representing 419 locations. Nine prospective stores became members of Worldwide.
These independent retail stores were actively buying at this three-day event from the 615 booths that included 30 that exhibited for the first time at the Worldwide Show.
Awards were recognized for 2011 Member Store of the Year, Rookie Store of the Year, Hardlines/Softlines Vendors and Reps of the Year:
- Member Store: The General Store-Spokane, Washington
- Rookie Store: Fisherman’s Marine & Outdoor-Portland, Oregon
- Hardlines Vendor: Security Equipment Corporation
- Hardlines Rep: Tanya Sukert Wilmar Performance Tool
- Softlines Vendor: Timberland
Softlines - Rep: Art & Jad Simpson Western Sports & Leisure
The next show will be held August 28-31, 2012 in Reno.
