Woox, the Italian manufacturer of gunstocks, axes, and knives founded by the Minelli family in 1937 in Bergamo, Italy, has hired Brian Matthews as its new U.S. national sales manager, responsible for the brand’s domestic sales, reporting to CEO Ben Fleming.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Brian lead our sales team,” commented Fleming. “Brian brings a wealth of experience to this already highly talented team. Our business is growing at an incredible rate. To keep up with the growth, we are adding key positions to help guide us along the way. Brian’s experience and the vision that he brings will serve him well in his new role.”

Matthews will oversee the growth and expansion of the company’s national U.S. account base by developing and implementing key strategic incentives. He is said to bring a vast knowledge of the industry and products, as well as an established relationship base.

“Brian is an accomplished, results-oriented professional with progressive experience in sales and account management,” the company said in a media release. “He also has an excellent track record of improving efficiency, productivity and profitability.”

Prior to Woox, Matthews held similar roles at Advanced Armament Corporation and BPI Outdoor for Bergara and CVA. He has reportedly worked in the outdoor industry for most of his professional career.

“I couldn’t be more excited to work for this iconic brand,” offered Matthews. “As an avid sportsman, this is an unbelievable opportunity. Woox is an outstanding brand that takes pride in its heritage and craftsmanship. I’m honored to be a part of this highly talented team.”
