Goal Five, the women’s sports apparel brand, promoted Suzanne Berg Currier, its chief marketing officer, to CEO.
Currier, who joined Goal Five as chief marketing officer in July 2024, has nearly 30 years of experience across media, marketing and consumer brand building.
Goal Five said that during her time with the company, Currier has been instrumental in “reshaping the brand, elevating product storytelling and deepening its commitment to serving female athletes.”
Currier was responsible for launching the brand’s “Her Fifth Gear” set of stories that highlight how achievement in sports can lead to success in other areas of life. Currier is also responsible for media and marketing strategy at Woodside Ventures, a digital boutique e-commerce marketing agency based in Pittsburgh, PA. She previously served as an advisor to Knockaround, the San Diego, CA-based sunglass brand.
As CEO, she succeeds Ann Kletz, co-founder and advisor of Goal Five.
“I’m honored to lead a brand built by and for female athletes of all ages, regardless of how you define an athlete,” stated Currier. “Women deserve apparel engineered for their bodies, stories that amplify how sport has elevated them in life, and a brand that champions them as competitors. Goal Five has always represented that belief, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
“From the very beginning, Goal Five has stood for something bigger than apparel. It has stood for opportunity,” said Kletz. “Suzanne lives that mission every day. She understands the heart of this brand, the athletes we serve, and the work still ahead to make sports more equitable for women everywhere. I’m thrilled to see her step into this role.”
“Suzanne’s passion for women’s sports is unmatched, and her track record in brand building and consumer engagement speaks for itself,” said Jeff Hennion, Goal Five board chairman. “As we enter a new phase of expansion, her vision, leadership and relentless drive make her exactly the right person to take Goal Five forward.”
The company’s name is inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5: “Achieve equality and empower all women and girls.”
