Wilson Racquet Sports has hired Jim Burda as their new U.S. Promotions Manager. Burda has more than 18 years experience in the tennis industry with involvement in the development and execution of grassroots tennis programs – both on and off the court – at the teaching, education and management levels.

Burda is the founder of Racquets for Life, LLC (RFL), a family racquets consulting, education, and publishing firm that is involved in tennis retail management at several clubs as well as the Racquets For Life magazine that his team developed. He has also most recently been the Director of Racquet Sports at the Evanston Golf Club in Illinois. Jim is a national USPTA clinician and convention speaker who has trained thousands of players and coaches through workshops, seminars, and tennis programs throughout the country.

Since his college days as a two-time national doubles champion from Kalamazoo College, Burda has been active with the USPTA and is a lifetime USTA member. His family was also named the 2002 USTA’s “Midwest Tennis Family of The Year”.

“Jim has an incredibly strong background in tennis as a player, speaker, retailer, entrepreneur and as a tennis professional who brings a wealth of experience, success and passion to Wilson,” Jon Muir, U.S. Director of Sales & Marketing for Wilson, said. “Wilson will continue our focus as the grassroots leader in the industry and we are very excited to have Jim leading these programs as we move forward.”

As U.S. Promotions Manager, Jim will oversee Wilson’s promotions department and Wilson’s grassroots programs as well as focus on developing key promotional initiatives to expand their reach & relationships within the industry. Burda will report to Jon Muir, who was recently promoted to U.S. Director of Sales & Marketing for Wilson.
