Sport Brands International (SBI) has named Fila USA's current VP Marketing Communication, Mark Westerman, as Vice President Global Marketing Communication for Fila. Mr. Westerman is the latest in a series of new appointments at the company which, was purchased by SBI in June, 2003.

In his new role, Mr. Westerman will be responsible for developing Fila's global communications initiatives. He will oversee the global advertising directive, entertainment marketing, public relations, website, and key account marketing. He will also play a key role in developing the global strategy and assisting key subsidiaries around the world.

Mr. Westerman has been with Fila USA for 10 years and was instrumental in the development of the company's highly regarded consumer advertising campaigns and recent entertainment marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining Fila, Mr. Westerman spent 10 years at Doner Advertising in Baltimore. As Vice President, Account Director, he managed advertising and promotional efforts for a number of accounts including Arby's, Hostess and Verizon Mobile. Mr. Westerman was the recipient of an Effie and an Addy for his work on Doner's behalf.

Mr. Westerman hails from Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania and is a graduate of the University of Michigan. A former collegiate track and field athlete, Mr. Westerman is an avid runner and biathlete. He currently resides with his wife and three children in Owings Mills, Maryland. Mr. Westerman will continue to be based at Fila's headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
