The owners of McFly Outdoors, the hunt, fish and outdoor gear store serving North Central West Virginia, announced they will be selling the business.
No reason was provided; however, a Facebook post states, “This was not an easy decision for our family, but it is one we feel is necessary in this season.”
The store, which also offers guided fishing trips through its outfitting division, MFO Outfitters, is located at 2774 Old Route 33.
The business originally opened in October 2012 on Georgetown Road before opening a second location in Bridgeport in 2015. In 2023, the company moved from its original location on Georgetown Road to the current location on Old Route 33.

We have some difficult news to share.
After much thought and prayer, we have made the decision to sell McFly Outdoors. This was not an easy decision for our family, but it is one we feel is necessary in this season.
The storefront located at 2774 Old Route 33, Horner, WV will be going on the market. At this time, our plan is to sell the real estate, while also offering the business itself for sale.

As of now, we will not be running a store closing sale. However, we are currently offering 10% off all inventory. Additionally, our operating hours will be from 9AM to 5PM Monday- Saturday.
We respectfully ask that you do not inquire with our staff regarding additional discounts or future plans. Our team is very much our family, and this has been an incredibly difficult decision for them to process as well. We will share updates as they become available.
