Wenger, maker of the Genuine Swiss Army Knife, announced it has donated over 1,800 Wenger products to aid the disaster relief effort in Japan. The company has shipped 634 Swiss Army Knives, 569 backpacks, 570 sleeping bags and 100 tents to assist in the recovery.

The supplies are being distributed to the emergency response teams mobilized throughout the hardest hit areas of Japan.

“Whether it's tents and sleeping bags for shelters, or Swiss Army Knives for rescue workers, we are committed to help in any way possible in the ongoing recovery effort in Japan,” said Wenger CEO Peter Hug. “Our hearts and prayers are with the victims, their families and the entire country of Japan during this extremely difficult time.”

Wenger has coordinated distribution of the product through its Japanese office with assistance of Team EastWind, the adventure racing team who represented Japan in the recent Wenger Patagonia Expedition Race.
