Walmart, Inc. plans to remodel more than 650 Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets stores this year while expecting to open 20 new stores during the period through early 2027.
Walmart noted that new store openings so far this year include Walmart Supercenters in Eastvale, California, and three in Florida: Apollo Beach, Jacksonville, and The Villages. A Walmart Neighborhood Market opened in Ocala, Florida. Plans for this year include expanding its Supercenter in Tucson, Arizona, and opening a new Supercenter in Celina, TX.
In 2025, Walmart opened nine new stores across Alabama, California, Florida, New Jersey, Texas, and Utah. It currently operates 4,611 stores in the U.S., including 3,566 Supercenters, 351 discount stores and 673 Neighborhood Markets.
The remodels will feature wider aisles, updated displays, expanded assortments, and new digital touchpoints. The stores will also feature refreshed interiors and exteriors, modern signage, and improved parking and landscaping.
