Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. reported net sales for the five-week period ending October 1, 2004, of $25.739 billion, an increase of 10.8% over the $23.239 billion in the same five-week period in the prior year. Sales for the thirty-five week period were $182.003 billion, an increase of 11.5% over $163.246 billion in the similar period in the prior year.

The Wal-Mart Division's sales for the five-week period were $17.169 billion, up 9.4% over sales of $15.699 billion in the same five-week period in the prior year. The Division's sales for the thirty-five weeks of $122.058 billion were up 10.1% over $110.858 billion in the similar prior-year period.

SAM'S CLUB sales for the five-week period were $3.394 billion, up 5.7% over sales of $3.210 billion in the same five-week period in the prior year. Club sales for the thirty-five weeks of $24.236 billion were up 8.5% over the $22.343 billion in the similar prior-year period.

The International Division's sales for the five-week period were $5.176 billion, up 19.5% over sales of $4.330 billion in the same five- week period in the prior year. The Division's sales for the thirty-five weeks of $35.709 billion were up 18.9% over the $30.045 billion in the similar prior-year period.
