Vida Shoes International, Inc. announced that it has completed the acquisition of Munro, an Arkansas-based footwear brand that specializes in women’s comfort- and fit-driven styles.

“This acquisition represents a powerful alignment of values and vision,” said Solomon Dabah, president of Vida Shoes International, in a media release. “Munro is a brand rooted in quality, integrity and a loyal customer base that spans generations. We’re honored to welcome Munro into the Vida family and are committed to investing in its growth while preserving the authenticity and legacy that have made it so special.”

Munro was founded in 1959 and is “known for its exceptional fit,” offering an extensive range of sizes, including narrow, wide, and hard-to-find sizes.

“This moment marks a meaningful new chapter for the Munro brand,” said Bruce Munro, former CEO, Munro & Company, Inc. “We are proud of what our family has built over the last six decades and are confident that Vida is the right partner to carry the Munro legacy forward with integrity and care.”

Munro closed its operations in early 2025 and is available only through retailer back stock.

Munro Shoes was founded when the late Robert Malcolm Munro moved to Hot Springs, AK and established the original Lake Catherine Footwear, a division of a New Hampshire-based shoe manufacturer. In 1972, Munro purchased the Arkansas division of the company and established Munro & Company, Inc. After decades of ownership, his five children purchased the company, with three of them managing the daily operations. Don Munro passed away in 2022 at the age of 94.

As part of the transition, Nikki Munro has joined Vida Shoes International, Inc. as VP of Sales, bringing with her extensive industry experience and strong retail relationships that have been instrumental to the brand’s growth and success over the years.

The transaction was completed on September 22, 2025.
