Victorinox Swiss Army Inc., maker of the iconic Swiss Army Knife, has partnered with Sports Authority to launch the first-ever Swiss Army Knife Design Contest in the United States.

The little red pocket knife, with the instantly recognizable cross and shield emblem on its handle, has been passed down through generations and evokes memories and stories for many. Today, Victorinox Swiss Army and Sports Authority are providing an opportunity for consumers to create and share new memories with their own unique design for the handle.

Through June 23, 2015, consumers are invited to submit handle designs for the Classic SD Swiss Army Knife at designsak.com. Following the entry period, the top thirty submissions (as judged by Victorinox Swiss Army), will be posted to designsak.com so fans can vote on their favorites from June 30–July 8, 2015.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sports Authority and offer this unique opportunity to fans whether they are a novice or experienced designer,” said Dennis Piretra, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Victorinox Swiss Army, North America. “Swiss Army Knives are a uniquely personal experience for all who carry them, yet have thousands of uses. This contest provides an opportunity to customize the look of your Swiss Army Knife with unlimited design possibilities.”

The three designs with the most votes will be announced on July 20, 2015. The winners and their designs will be featured on both the Sports Authority and Victorinox Swiss Army social media channels, and the winning designs will be sold in participating Sports Authority retail stores nationwide. Winners will also each receive a $1000 Sports Authority Gift Card plus a $1000 Victorinox Swiss Army prize package.

Entrants must be 13 years of age or older and a legal resident of the contiguous United States. For the full list of contest rules please visit www.designsak/rules.
