Vicis partnered with Oakley on the launch of the Vicis Edge Shield by Oakley, developed exclusively for the Vicis Zero1.

Engineered to enhance performance and optimize safety, the Edge Shield is the first ever co-developed football optics system. The collaboration will add Oakley’s performance innovations and quality optics to Zero1, the football helmet that earned the top rank in 2017 NFL/NFLPA tests. The Vicis Edge Shield by Oakley is designed to complement the wide field of view of the Zero1 and improve clarity and contrast for the player.

“Oakley’s collaboration with Vicis is a testament to the brand’s belief that everything can and will be made better,” said Ryan Saylor, Oakley vice president of advanced product. “Extending our leading optics technology to another field allowed us to create the highest performance football shield for the highest performance helmet. We are excited to see the impact that it will have on the game of football and athlete’s performance and safety.

The Vicis Edge Shield by Oakley will be the only football shield available with Oakley Prizm, a lens technology that has turned eyewear into equipment for sports. The technology supports precise color tuning, designed for specific environments. The Vicis Edge Shield by Oakley is molded out of Oakley’s high impact Plutonite, a proprietary synthetic material that blocks 100 percent of UV rays and helps protect athlete’s eyes during games and training.

“We saw an opportunity to partner with Oakley to help players elevate their performance via improved optics,” said Dave Marver, Vicis CEO and co-founder. “Our goal is that athletes wearing a Zero1 will benefit from industry- leading field of view, enhanced optical clarity and better protection.”

The Vicis Edge Shield by Oakley will be offered in Prizm and non-Prizm configurations. In September 2017 the Vicis Edge Shield by Oakley will be distributed by Vicis directly to teams and can be ordered online at www.Vicis.com.
