USA Cycling has named Matt Heitmann as chief marketing officer, overseeing marketing and membership. Heitmann joins the organization after leading marketing efforts of multiple industry organizations, including The Pro’s Closet, Canyon and BMC. Heitmann will begin with USA Cycling on March 8.

“Dividing our commercial group to have a clear focus on two separate growth areas is a continued investment in commercial opportunities. Having a team focused on our members and growth of new members and the other driving business-to-business development with partners, sponsors and elevating the USA Cycling Foundation’s work will allow the organization to address the return to racing and riding, Tokyo Olympics and the overall growth of cycling in the past year,” said USA Cycling President and CEO Rob DeMartini. “Matt brings significant marketing and e-commerce experience and success from some of the most successful cycling brands in the industry in The Pro’s Closet, Canyon and BMC. We are excited to have him take the reins on the We Champion messaging to build greater relevance for the USA Cycling brand with all cyclists.

“Having been in and around the sport of cycling for most of my adult life, I’m excited for the chance to join USA Cycling and give back to something that’s given me so much,” said Heitmann. “I am thrilled to work with the team to continue their awesome work. USA Cycling is a powerful brand and champion of all the great work the cycling community is doing to improve accessibility, encourage participation, and foster excellence to make more Americans healthier, happier and better on two wheels.”

Bouker Pool, chief commercial officer, will add leadership of the USA Cycling Foundation and continue to lead the team building USA Cycling through partnerships with media, events, organizations, and corporate sponsors.

“Our goal to champion all the things that make cycling great in America can only be achieved by strengthening and aligning our resources,” said DeMartini. “Matt provides us with significant experience from marketing and e-commerce and giving Bouker greater oversight on revenue generation and expand key partnerships and initiatives will help USA Cycling grow and champion the industry.”
