According
to Datatech, rounds of golf played in the U.S. fell 16.7 percent in April.
Rounds at public access courses were down 5.9 percent while private courses
were off 3.3 percent.

By region,
the biggest shortfall in the month came in East North Central, with a decline in
rounds played of 45.3 percent. That was followed by Mid Atlantic, down 37.2
percent; West North Central, down 26.7 percent; New England, 19.0 percent; South
Atlantic, 4.6 percent; Mountain, 4.5 percent; and South Central, 3.4 percent.

The one
positive region was Pacific, up 1.0 percent.

For the
year-to date period, rounds are down 5.9 percent.
