Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN), the parent of the Anthropologie, Free People, FP Movement, Urban Outfitters and Nuuly brands, reported total company net sales for the two months ended December 31 increased 9 percent compared to the two months ended December 31, 2024.
- Total Retail segment net sales increased 7 percent, with comparable Retail segment net sales increasing 5 percent for the two-month holiday period. The increase in Retail segment comparable net sales was reportedly driven by mid-single-digit positive growth in both Digital Channel sales and Retail Store sales.
- By banner, comparable Retail segment net sales increased 9 percent at Urban Outfitters, 5 percent at Free People and 3 percent at Anthropologie. FP Movement brand Retail segment comparable net sales increased 18 percent and Free People brand Retail segment comparable net sales increased 1 percent.
- Subscription segment net sales increased 43 percent year-over-year, primarily driven by a 41 percent increase in average active subscribers in the current period versus the prior-year comparative two-month period.
- Wholesale segment net sales increased 13 percent driven by an increase in Free People wholesale sales primarily due to an increase in sales to department stores.
For the eleven months ended December 31, total company net sales increased 11 percent compared to the eleven months ended December 31, 2024.
- Total Retail segment net sales increased 8 percent, with comparable Retail segment net sales increasing 6 percent. The increase in Retail segment comparable net sales was said to be driven by mid-single-digit positive growth in both Digital Channel sales and Retail Store sales.
- Subscription segment net sales increased 51 percent primarily driven by a 46 percent increase in average active subscribers in the current period versus the prior year period.
- Wholesale segment net sales increased 15 percent driven by an increase in Free People wholesale sales primarily due to an increase in sales to specialty customers and department stores.
During the eleven months ended December 31, the company opened a total of 58 new retail locations including:
- 36 Free People stores (including 21 FP Movement stores):
- 13 Anthropologie stores; and
- Nine Urban Outfitters stores.
URBN closed seven retail locations including: five Urban Outfitters stores and two Free People stores.
