Under Armour is reportedly close to signing a deal with Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton. CNBC had reported that the deal was finalized but a UA spokesperson told USA Today they were still working out the details. Said spokeswoman Diane Pelkey in an email “We're still in negotiations.”

Sources told CNBC that the deal will be the largest deal ever given to an incoming NFL rookie, surpassing the $1 million a year deal Adidas gave to Reggie Bush in 2006 both in terms of annual guarantee and overall dollars.

Newton could be a Top 10 NFL pick next season. Under Armour owns the license to make jerseys for the quarterback's school, Auburn.
