Tubbs Snowshoes has announced it is bringing a scaled down version of its successful Romp To Stomp Out Breast Cancer event series to Backcountry BaseCamp in Brighton Backcountry, UT, on January 28, prior to Outdoor Retailer.
At Backcountry Basecamp, Tubbs will create a “Romp to Stomp” event for buyers and editors with a marked snowshoe course. For every participant who walks the course, Tubbs will donate $5 to the Susan G. Koman Foundation. The first 100 participants to sign up for the event will also receive an official Nalgene pink “Romp” water bottle.

Tubbs will also use the event to introduce and showcase its first official women’s specific “Romp” series pink ribbon snowshoe, available next winter, to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer testing/screening and research.

The Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer series, which began in 2003 as a collaborated effort between Tubbs Snowshoes and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, has raised over $110,600 in the past two years. One hundred percent of the proceeds from each location’s event goes to the local area Susan G. Komen Foundation to benefit breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

“We have been overwhelmed by both the corporate and the public response to our events over the past two years”, said Kathy Murphy, General Manager for Tubbs. “This series would not be possible without the generous financial support from our sponsors and participants and we’re delighted to have this opportunity to showcase the event to the outdoor industry,” said Murphy.

While the course is open all day, the event begins at 1PM. At that time, participants will have an opportunity to:

  • Hear from a representative of the Salt Lake City, Susan G. Komen Affiliate to learn more about the Komen Foundation and the Romp To Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series.
  • Be among the first to test drive the new floral graphic Altitude Series women’s specific “Romp” snowshoe, which will be available at retail next winter.
  • Enter to win a Tubbs and Columbia Gear Package (Jacket, Ski Pants, Boots, Snowshoes), drawing to take place immediately following the snowshoe walk.
  • Enjoy a cup of Green Mountain Coffee at the Tubbs/Green Mountain Coffee Kitchen, located at the heated Tubbs Event Tent.
