True Temper Sports has opened a new 50,000 sq foot titanium production facility in Olive Branch, MS, which will be dedicated to manufacturing and butting bicycle tubing. The new facility is the first step in the company’s new growth initiative, instigated by a new private equity partner, Gilbert Global Equity. GGE acquired True Temper last month in a deal worth $343 million.

Ric Andersen, VP and GM of True Temper's Performance Sports Group, told BOSS that his division has been showing 20% growth for the past several years, and under this new, and very aggressive, growth initiative, he is looking to double that.

One deal that may not deliver volume, but certainly shows the technical capabilities of True Temper, is a new agreement signed with Trek. True Temper will be providing the steel ‘spine’ for Lemond’s $4,000 multi-material Maillot Jaune road bike. “Trek has been one of our key partners for quite some time now,” said Anderson, who added that he hopes to grow the relationship
